A hollow planet, with people living inside, traveling through space, is on a collision course with disaster.

This episode features an intriguing alien society that doesn't know it's inside a hollow asteroid zooming through outer space. McCoy, dying, gets a shot at romance, and it's about time! Katherine Woodville ("The Night Stalker") offers solid support as the planet's High Priestess Natira.

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise discovers that Yonada, an artificial planet is on a trajectory toward destruction. McCoy finds out he's terminally ill.

When Kirk and company beam into the hollow planet, they encounter a society that does not know it is in a hollow world traveling through space. Before long, Dr. McCoy falls in love with alien high priestess Natira.

Kirk and friends alter the computer of the "ship", diverting it from the path of danger. The planet's people share great scientific and medical knowledge with the Enterprise gang. McCoy miraculously recovers from his fatal illness.
