PLOT SUMMARY...
While on recouperating on a planet, Scotty is accused of murdering several women.

This episode features a fascinating portrayal by James Doohan (Scotty) who may be murdering women. If you like Mr. Scott, you'll enjoy having him center stage for this episode. John Fiedler ("The Bob Newhart Show") is quite good as an Argelian official inhabited by the alien spirit of Jack the Ripper. Writer Robert Bloch ("Psycho") adapted his story "Yours Truly, Jack the Ripper" for this fine episode.

SYNOPSIS...
Following a space injury, Scotty enjoys shore leave on Argelius II. When a woman is killed, Scotty is accused of murder.

When an Argelian ritual takes place to help find the culprit, another murder occurs, with the dead woman found in Scotty's arms. Although Scotty professes his innocence, he's beginning to look very guilty. A formal investigation is conducted.

Aboard the Enterprise, the real murderer turns out to be an ancient entity, known on Earth as Jack the Ripper. After invading the Enterprise's computer, the entity is flushed out into space.
