Star Trek Review: ASSIGNMENT EARTH

Director Marc Daniels,' "ASSIGNMENT EARTH," is a clever, good humored time travel yarn.

"ASSIGNMENT EARTH" was actually a pilot for a spinoff series. It never came to be.

Robert Lansing is quite good as Gary Seven, a man of mystery. Lansing, at this point in his career, had the coiled intensity of the late Steve McQueen. Lansing's TV credits include: "Twelve O' Clock High", "The Equalizer", and "Kung Fu,"(syndicated).

Actress, Teri Garr, made her television debut here as Roberta Lincoln, a none too bright secretary. She later went on to fame in such film hits as, "Mr. Mom", "Tootsie", "Young Frankenstein", and "Close Encounters of the Third Kind".

The clever Story is one of the better Classic "Trek" time travel tales. Art Wallace wrote the Teleplay, from a Story by Wallace and Gene Roddenberry.

"ASSIGNMENT EARTH" should be highly watchable for most Sci-Fi viewers. Teri Garr fans will dig this episode.
