PLOT SUMMARY...
Evil aliens hijack the Enterprise, turning some of the crew into compact, geometric shapes.

This episode features humanoid aliens who take over the Enterprise, a popular plot device on "Star Trek". A scene where Scotty attempts to get the alien, Tomar (Robert Fortier) drunk is a hoot. Warren Stevens ("Forbidden Planet") provides a sturdy presence as the alien leader Rojan.

SYNOPSIS...
The Enterprise crew visits an alien world. Soon the landing party, as well as the crew of the orbiting Enterprise, are paralyzed by the Kelvan. The Enterprise is boarded.

The Kelvan leader reveals his plan to take the Enterprise on a very long trip to the Andromeda Galaxy. Numerous crew members are turned into compact, geometric shapes. When Kirk resists, a crew member is destroyed.

The aliens begin to enjoy their human bodies. Scotty gets one of the aliens drunk, or tries to any way. Kirk convinces the aliens to join with the Federation instead of fighting against it. The aliens decide to remain in humanoid form, and let the federation find a suitable planet for them.
